At the institute I met two foreign colleagues from Poland. We all benefited from a lot of attention from the faculty, aiming to raise our individual learning and understanding of Chinese history and culture.
By developing friendly relations and participating in common activities with our Chinese colleagues we widened our experience, integrated socially, deepening our understanding of each other.
We had a Chinese cook who prepared an international menu just for the three of us, to please our European taste.
At the same time, we got acquainted with the best Chinese cuisine served in renowned Chinese restaurants, tastier than school’s cafeteria meals and fell in love with it.
Now, 60 years later, I still cook at home some Chinese recipes I learned in China.
