At 70, I decided to pick up painting as my preferred, sustained creative activity. Knowing that it will be a lot to learn, I made a plan to start with a consistent visual and written documentation, found in the Public Library.
I spent weeks there, updating myself in the field of painting. It put me in the right set of mind, brought confidence, and made me ready to start my lonely painting journey. I strongly believed that this slow systematic approach will bring me closer to finding myself and my voice.
Overcoming the stress of starting a painting, solving the beginning chaos, gives the mind a chance to observe how imagined intentions are taking form, how color becomes alive, and how, from the awareness of being the master of your expression, rises the strongest feeling of satisfaction felt by a painter in the painting process.
