Ancient bronze disc with traditional ornaments
In 1955, Romanian government decided to enlarge student exchange program with three new economic domains: rice, silk, and ceramics. I was proposed to study ceramics and was asked to request parents’ permission.
My father was impressed, embraced me, explaining what a huge chance opens to me and how proud of me he is. I was 18y old and he encouraged me to leave home and prove with my work that I deserve this honor. Not all parents gave permission and many students later regretted.
